About Sardonyx
El sardónice es una variedad de ágata que combina capas alternas de sardo (marrón rojizo) y ónice (blanco o negro). Esta llamativa combinación de bandas lo ha convertido en una piedra muy apreciada desde la antigüedad para tallar camafeos y sellos. Los romanos lo usaban ampliamente en joyería y amuletos. Hoy sigue siendo popular en joyería clásica y para tallar en relieve. Los principales yacimientos se encuentran en India, Brasil y Uruguay.
