About Cerussite
La cerusita es un carbonato de plomo que cristaliza en el sistema ortorrómbico, formando cristales tabulares, aciculares o en maclas características en forma de estrella o red. Es incolora a blanca, con un extraordinario brillo adamantino que la hace muy llamativa, y puede mostrar una notable fluorescencia amarilla bajo luz ultravioleta. Aunque es sumamente frágil y densa, los ejemplares transparentes son facetados como gemas de coleccionista de gran brillo. Los mejores especímenes del mundo provienen de Tsumeb (Namibia), Touissit (Marruecos) y Broken Hill (Australia). Se forma en la zona de oxidación de los depósitos de plomo.
