About Cerussite
Cerussite is a lead carbonate mineral that produces some of the most brilliantly lustrous and fire-filled transparent crystals in the mineral kingdom, with adamantine luster and very high dispersion creating dazzling faceted collector gems. It forms complex, twinned crystals—often in reticulated networks—in the oxidized zones of lead ore deposits, with spectacular specimens from Morocco's Touissit mine and Tsumeb, Namibia. Its extreme density (specific gravity ~6.5) and high refractive index give it remarkable optical properties.
