About Anglesite
La anglesita es un mineral de sulfato de plomo que cristaliza en el sistema ortorrómbico, formando cristales prismáticos o tabulares de gran brillo adamantino. Sus colores van del incoloro al blanco, amarillo, gris o verdoso, con una transparencia que puede ser alta en los mejores ejemplares. Se forma en la zona de oxidación de depósitos de galena (sulfuro de plomo) y puede exhibir una fluorescencia amarilla bajo luz ultravioleta. Los cristales facetados son piezas de coleccionista de gran rareza, ya que la anglesita es frágil, pesada y difícil de trabajar. Toma su nombre de la isla de Anglesey, en Gales, donde fue descubierta.
