About Anglesite
Anglesite is a lead sulfate mineral forming heavy, adamantine-lustrous crystals in colorless, yellow, gray, or greenish tones in the oxidized zones of lead ore deposits. Named after the island of Anglesey in Wales, where it was first described, it also occurs in fine specimens from Morocco, Namibia, and the United States. Its exceptional brilliance rivals diamond when faceted, but extreme density (specific gravity ~6.3) and low hardness make it a fragile collector gem.
