A starlite é um nome comercial para o zircão azul tratado termicamente, outrora a gema azul mais na moda do início do século XX antes de ser eclipsada pela tanzanite e pela aquamarina de tratamento moderno. O seu azul vívido e o seu extraordinário brilho, resultante do elevado índice de refração do zircão, fazem dela uma pedra muito atrativa. Os exemplares mais apreciados provêm do Camboja e do Vietname, onde os cristais são tratados termicamente para obter a característica cor azul.
