About Girasol
O girassol é uma variedade de opala ou quartzo que exibe um fenómeno ótico de brilho ou reflexo interno suave e flutuante, geralmente branco-azulado, que parece mover-se com a rotação da pedra. O nome deriva do italiano "girare il sole" (girar o sol). Em opala, o girassol é uma variedade translúcida a semitransparente com um brilho interno suave. No quartzo, cria um efeito leitoso elegante. É usado em cabuchões e como pedra decorativa.
