About Anorthoclase
A anortoclase é um feldspato alcalino de composição intermédia entre a albite e a sanidina, rico em sódio e potássio. Forma-se em rochas vulcânicas de composição alcalina, como traquitos e fonolitos. Algumas variedades de anortoclase exibem adularescência azulada, sendo comercializadas como pedra-da-lua, embora o termo seja mais comumente associado à adulária e à ortoclase. Os seus cristais transparentes são raros e muito apreciados por colecionadores. É encontrada em vulcões activos e extintos, com ocorrências notáveis no Monte Etna, em Itália, e no Monte Kenya.
