About Anglesite
A anglesita é um mineral de sulfato de chumbo que forma cristais tabulares ou prismáticos de brilho adamantino muito intenso, com coloração geralmente incolor, branca ou cinzenta, por vezes amarelada. O seu índice de refracção elevado e a dispersão significativa conferem-lhe um brilho excepcional que rivaliza com o do diamante. No entanto, a sua fragilidade e elevada densidade limitam a sua utilização prática em joalharia. É muito apreciada por colecionadores de minerais. O nome deriva da ilha de Anglesey, no País de Gales, onde foram descritos os primeiros exemplares. Forma-se na zona de oxidação de depósitos de galena.
