About Wernerite
La wernerita es un antiguo nombre que se aplicaba a la escapolita, especialmente a sus variedades ricas en sodio (marialita). Hoy el término escapolita es el preferido en mineralogía. Los cristales de wernerita pueden ser incoloros, amarillos, rosados o grises con un brillo vítreo. Algunos muestran chatoyance o fluorescencia. El nombre honra al mineralogista alemán Abraham Gottlob Werner. Se encuentra en rocas metamórficas y como mineral asociado a yacimientos pegmatíticos.
