About Transvaal Jade
El jade del Transvaal es el nombre comercial de la grossularia verde (un granate de calcio y aluminio) de aspecto similar al jade imperial, procedente de Sudáfrica. Su tonalidad va del verde menta al verde esmeralda, dependiendo del contenido en cromo y vanadio. Aunque no es jade verdadero (que es jadeíta o nefrita), es una piedra ornamental apreciada en joyería y tallas decorativas por su color atractivo y buena dureza. Se usa ampliamente como sustituto del jade.
