About Tantalite
La tantalita es un mineral de óxido de hierro, manganeso y tantalio, principal mena del tantalio, un metal esencial en la electrónica moderna. Sus cristales son negros a marrón oscuro con un intenso brillo submetálico a resinoso. Los especímenes con buena forma cristalina son apreciados por los coleccionistas. Forma una serie continua con la columbita. Los principales yacimientos se hallan en Australia, Brasil, República Democrática del Congo, Nigeria y Mozambique.
