About Sinhalite
La sinhalita es un mineral de borato de magnesio y aluminio de color amarillo miel a marrón oliva, originalmente confundido con peridoto. Es una gema relativamente rara, facetada para coleccionistas y aficionados a gemas inusuales. Su nombre proviene de «Sinhala», el nombre antiguo de Sri Lanka, donde fue identificada por primera vez. También se encuentra en Myanmar y Tanzania. Posee buena dureza (6.5–7 en la escala de Mohs) y un brillo vítreo atractivo.
