About Scolecite
La scolecita es una zeolita de silicato de calcio y aluminio que forma delicados cristales prismáticos blancos a incoloros, a menudo en grupos radiantes o fibrosos de gran belleza. Su nombre deriva del griego que significa «gusano», por la forma en que se retuerce al ser calentada. Los especímenes más espectaculares proceden de Maharashtra (India), donde se encuentran en cavidades de basalto. Es muy apreciada por los coleccionistas por la elegancia de sus formaciones cristalinas.
