About Prehnite
La prenhita es un silicato de calcio y aluminio que forma masas botrioidales o cristales tabulares de un delicado color verde manzana a amarillo verdoso con lustre ceroso a nacarado y habitualmente translúcida. Fue el primer mineral en ser nombrado en honor de una persona: el coronel Hendrik von Prehn, que la trajo de Sudáfrica a Europa en el siglo XVIII. El material de mejor calidad translúcida con inclusiones de epidota verde oscura procede de Mali y es muy popular en joyería artesanal y coleccionismo de gemas.
