About Phosphophyllite
La fosfofilita es uno de los minerales gema más raros y hermosos del mundo, con un delicado color azul verdoso a azul pálido y una extraordinaria transparencia que recuerda al aguamarina más fino. Se forma en las zonas fosfatadas de los yacimientos de estaño en pegmatitas graníticas, siendo la mina Unificada de Potosí en Bolivia su única fuente significativa de material de calidad gema. Su extrema fragilidad —perfecta exfoliación en tres direcciones— y su escasez la hacen casi imposible de tallar, lo que eleva aún más su valor en colecciones de élite.
