About Petalite
La petalita es un tecto-silicato de litio y aluminio que forma masas clivadas o cristales tabulares de color incoloro, blanco o gris con lustre vítreo, siendo la primera fuente natural de litio identificada por el químico Johan August Arfwedson en 1817. Se halla en pegmatitas graníticas de Namibia, Brasil y Suecia, y el material transparente es ocasionalmente facetado para coleccionistas. Es también una fuente menor de litio para la industria de las baterías y la cerámica especial.
