About Periclase
La periclasa es el óxido de magnesio natural que forma cristales cúbicos incoloros a blancos, amarillos o verdes con lustre vítreo y perfecta exfoliación cúbica. Mineral de alta temperatura típico de mármoles y cornubianitas de contacto, su nombre deriva del griego para «clivaje perfecto». El material transparente es extremadamente raro en la naturaleza y de gran interés mineralógico, aunque la periclasa sintética (magnesia) es ampliamente utilizada en la industria refractaria.
