About Moss Opal
El ópalo musgoso es una variedad de ópalo común, opaco a translúcido, que contiene inclusiones de óxidos de manganeso o hierro dispuestos en patrones dendríticos parecidos al musgo o las ramas, a diferencia del ópalo precioso que muestra juego de colores. Su base suele ser blanca, crema o gris, realzando el contraste de las denditas oscuras. Se encuentra en México, Australia y los Estados Unidos, y es utilizado en joyería artesanal y objetos decorativos.
