About Mimetite
La mimetita es un llamativo arsénico-fosfato de plomo que produce brillantes cristales hexagonales de color amarillo intenso, naranja-amarillo o naranja-rojo con lustre adamantino a resinoso. Se forma como mineral secundario en las zonas de oxidación de depósitos de plomo-arsénico, con extraordinarios ejemplares de la mina Ojuela en México, así como yacimientos en Namibia, Alemania y los Estados Unidos. Su nombre, derivado del griego para «imitador», alude a su similitud con la piromorfita.
