About Milk Opal (Porcelain Opal)
El ópalo lechoso, también llamado ópalo de porcelana, es una variedad opaca a translúcida de ópalo común que presenta una tonalidad blanca a crema uniforme, sin el juego de colores característico del ópalo precioso, con lustre ceroso y suave al tacto. Se forma por la deposición de sílice hidratada en grietas de rocas volcánicas y sedimentarias, con yacimientos en México, Honduras y Europa. Aunque carece del prestigio del ópalo de fuego o del ópalo negro, su aspecto porcelanado lo hace apreciado en joyería artesanal y como piedra de meditación.
