About Microlite
La microlita es un óxido de calcio, sodio y tantalio que forma cristales octaédricos de color amarillo pálido a naranja, pardo y negro con lustre resinoso a adamantino, y cuyo nombre hace referencia a su pequeño tamaño respecto al mineral análogo pyrochlore. Se encuentra en pegmatitas graníticas ricas en niobio y tantalio, con yacimientos notables en Mozambique, Brasil y Connecticut (EE. UU.). La variedad dorada traslúcida es la más apreciada para colección, y la microlita es también fuente de tántalo para la industria.
