About Hackmanite
La hackmanita es la variedad tenebrescente de la sodalita, un mineral de tectosilicato de sodio y aluminio con cloruro, que muestra el raro fenómeno de tenebrescence: cambia de incoloro o blanco a rosa o violáceo al exponerse a la luz ultravioleta o al sol, y luego recupera su color original en la oscuridad. Este ciclo puede repetirse indefinidamente. Los mejores especímenes provienen de Afganistán, Groenlandia y Myanmar, y los coleccionistas de gemas los aprecian por este fascinante comportamiento fotocromático.
