About Goethite
La goethita es un mineral de óxido hidratado de hierro que forma cristales prismáticos aciculares de color marrón a amarillo negruzco, o masas botroides con lustre sedoso. Como mineral de alteración ubicuo, es responsable del color amarillo-marrón de muchas rocas intemperizadas, pero las inclusiones de goethita dentro del cuarzo o el ópalo crean gemas ornamentales únicas que presentan iridiscentes destellos cobrizos dorados. El ágata de goethita y el cuarzo con inclusiones de goethita son materiales de lapidaria apreciados.
