About Franklinite
La franklinita es un óxido de zinc, hierro y manganeso de la serie de la espinela, que forma cristales octaédricos negruzcos a marrón oscuro en el famoso yacimiento de zinc de Franklin, Nueva Jersey, uno de los sitios de minerales fluorescentes más extraordinarios del mundo. Prácticamente exclusiva de este lugar, la franklinita no tiene aplicación gemológica, pero forma parte de los preciados espécimenes multicomponentes de Franklin, apreciados por su fluorescencia bajo la luz ultravioleta.
