About Cymophane

La cimofana es la variedad chatoyante del crisoberilo, más conocida como ojo de gato crisoberilo, y muestra una línea blanca y luminosa bien definida que se desliza sobre su superficie abovedada como la pupila hendida del ojo de un gato; es el ejemplo más perfecto del fenómeno óptico de chatoyancia en gemología. Cuando un comerciante de gemas dice 'ojo de gato' sin calificación, siempre se refiere a la cimofana. Las piedras más finas provienen de Sri Lanka y muestran un ojo brillante sobre un fondo amarillo miel a verdoso.
