About Chrome-Tourmaline
La turmalina cromo es una variedad de la turmalina de color verde intenso causado por la presencia de cromo y, a veces, vanadio en su estructura. Produce un color verde rico y profundo comparable al de la mejor esmeralda, generalmente con excelente saturación y brillo. Se encuentra principalmente en Tanzania (East Africa), especialmente en las zonas gemológicas de la región de Arusha. Los ejemplares de buena calidad son relativamente raros y muy apreciados por los coleccionistas de turmalinas y de gemas verdes. Su dureza (7-7.5) y su resistencia la hacen adecuada para todo tipo de joyería.
