About Boracite
La boracita es un mineral de borato y cloruro de magnesio que cristaliza en el sistema ortorrómbico a temperaturas bajas, aunque tiene simetría pseudo-cúbica a alta temperatura. Presenta colores que van del incoloro y blanco al amarillo, verde o azul, con brillo vítreo. Se encuentra exclusivamente en depósitos de evaporitas de yeso y halita. Los cristales bien formados de color verde son los más apreciados por los coleccionistas, aunque la dificultad para extraerlos intactos de la roca salina los hace rarísimos. Los yacimientos más importantes se encuentran en Alemania (Stassfurt), Gran Bretaña y el norte de América del Norte.
