About Augelite
La augelita es un mineral de fosfato de aluminio e hidróxido que cristaliza en el sistema monoclínico, formando cristales tabulares o prismáticos de color incoloro, blanco, amarillo pálido o ligeramente azulado, con brillo vítreo a perlado. Se encuentra principalmente en pegmatitas fosfatadas y en zonas metamórficas. Su nombre proviene del griego 'auge', que significa 'brillo', en referencia a su aspecto lustroso. Los ejemplares transparentes son muy raramente facetados para coleccionistas dado su tamaño generalmente pequeño y su moderada dureza. Los principales yacimientos se encuentran en Bolivia, Suecia, Estados Unidos y Portugal.
