About Analcime (Analcite)
La analcima (o analcita) es un mineral zeolita que cristaliza en el sistema cúbico, formando cristales trapezoedrales perfectos de color blanco, incoloro, rosado o grisáceo con brillo vítreo. Se forma en cavidades de rocas volcánicas básicas y en algunas rocas sedimentarias, así como en pegmatitas alcalinas. Aunque rara vez se utiliza en joyería debido a su moderada dureza (5-5.5) y su relativa abundancia, los cristales bien formados son muy apreciados por los coleccionistas mineralógicos. Su nombre proviene del griego 'analcos', que significa 'débil', en referencia a su baja carga eléctrica al ser frotada.
