About Amblygonite

La ambligonita es un mineral de fluorofosfato de litio y aluminio que cristaliza en el sistema triclínico, formando cristales masivos o prismáticos de color blanco a amarillo pálido, verde claro o gris. Es una fuente importante de litio y se encuentra principalmente en pegmatitas graníticas. Los ejemplares transparentes y de colores suaves son ocasionalmente facetados como gemas de coleccionista, aunque su baja dureza (5.5-6) y exfoliación perfecta dificultan su talla y uso en joyería. Proviene principalmente de Brasil, Francia, Estados Unidos y Myanmar. Su nombre hace referencia a sus ángulos de exfoliación oblicuos.
