About Tiger's Eye
O olho-de-tigre é uma variedade de quartzo chatoyante de cor dourada a castanho-avermelhada, cujas bandas sedosas e paralelas de luz deslizam pela superfície da pedra ao mover-se, num efeito semelhante ao olho de um felino. Esta chatoyance resulta da substituição de fibras de crocidolite (um anfíbol azul) por sílica, preservando a estrutura fibrosa original. Extraído principalmente na África do Sul, é muito apreciado em joalharia e como pedra de colecionador.
