About Siderite
A siderite é um mineral de carbonato de ferro que apresenta tons amarelo-castanhos, castanho-avermelhados ou esverdeados com um lustre vítreo a perláceo. Embora rara como gema, cristais transparentes amarelos a castanhos são por vezes talhados para colecionadores. É também um minério de ferro de importância económica e ocorre globalmente em depósitos sedimentares, hidrotermais e metamórficos.
