About Rossmanite
Rossmanite é um membro raro do grupo turmalina rico em lítio-alumínio com baixo teor de sódio, que forma cristais prismáticos de cor rosa-claro a incolor. Nomeada em homenagem ao mineralogista americano George Rossman do California Institute of Technology, foi reconhecida como espécie mineral independente em 1998. Ocorre em pegmatitos graníticos altamente diferenciados, frequentemente associada a outros minerais de lítio e turmalinas coradas. Os principais depósitos conhecidos encontram-se na República Checa e na África do Sul. A sua raridade e bela coloração rosada tornam-na apreciada por colecionadores de turmalinas raras.
