About Romanèchite
Romanechite é um mineral de óxido de manganês-bário que forma massas botrioidais ou estalactíticas de cor negra com brilho metálico a submetálico. Ocorre como produto de alteração de depósitos de manganês e em formações secundárias de óxido de manganês. Historicamente importante como mena de manganês, a romanechite é ocasionalmente usada em joalharia artesanal pelas suas texturas superficiais interessantes e brilho metálico. Os melhores espécimes com superfícies botrioidais bem desenvolvidas provêm de França, África do Sul e EUA. É um componente importante de muitas acumulações de 'psilomelano' (óxido de manganês).
