About Pollucite
Pollucite é um raro mineral de silicato de césio-alumínio que ocorre em pegmatitos graníticos ricos em lítio e césio. Geralmente incolor a branco-transparente, é a principal mina comercial de césio. Embora raramente talhada para joalharia, cristais de qualidade gemológica incolores ou levemente rosados são apreciados por colecionadores de gemas pouco convencionais. Os melhores depósitos localizam-se em Manitoba, no Canadá, e nas Ilhas Elba, em Itália. A sua composição em césio, o metal mais eletropositivo estável, torna a pollucite importante tanto industrialmente como para a colecção de minerais.
