About Nosean
Nosean é um mineral feldspato-patóide de silicato de sódio-alumínio-sulfato pertencente ao grupo sodalite. Forma cristais cúbicos ou dodecaédricos de cor cinzenta, castanha ou azulada em lavas vulcânicas alcalinas pobres em sílica. O nome homenageia o mineralogista alemão Karl Wilhelm Nose. Ocorre notavelmente em lavas do Eifel, na Alemanha, bem como em fonolitos noutras regiões. Embora raramente usado em joalharia, alguns cristais bem formados são apreciados por colecionadores. A nosean é quimicamente próxima da hauyne e pode ocorrer na mesma rocha.
