About Musgravite
Musgravite é uma das gemas mais raras e valiosas do mundo, membro do grupo taaffeite. Descrita pela primeira vez em 1967 a partir de material encontrado na Cordilheira Musgrave, na Austrália do Sul, daí o seu nome. Estruturalmente semelhante à taaffeíte, distingue-se pelo maior teor de magnésio. Os poucos exemplares conhecidos são predominantemente de tonalidade cinzenta-violácea a verde. Os principais depósitos foram identificados em Mianmar, Madagáscar e na Groenlândia. Com menos de algumas dezenas de exemplares de qualidade gemológica conhecidos, a musgravite é coleccionada exclusivamente por entusiastas das gemas mais raras do mundo.
