About Lazurite
Lazurite é o componente mineral principal do lápis-lazúli, responsável pela sua icónica cor azul profunda. Este mineral tectosilicato pertence ao grupo sodalite e forma como resultado de metamorfismo de contacto de rochas carbonatadas. Ao longo da história, o lápis-lazúli moído com lazurite produzia o pigmento ultramarino, que era mais valioso que o ouro no Renascimento. Os principais depósitos encontram-se no Afeganistão, no lendário vale de Badakhshan que fornece lazurite de qualidade gemológica há mais de 6.000 anos.
