About Hessonite
A hessonite é a variedade laranja-mel a castanho-avermelhada da grossulária (um tipo de granato), cujo nome deriva do grego para "inferior", referindo-se à dureza ligeiramente menor que outros granatos. É conhecida pelo seu aspeto interno "agitado" ou turbulento, causado por inclusões de cristais de apatite e zircão que produzem um efeito visual caracteristicamente aquoso. O Sri Lanka é a principal fonte histórica, mas também é encontrada no Canadá, Brasil e Índia.
