About Carletonite
A carletonite é um mineral raro de silicato de sódio, potássio e cálcio que forma cristais tabulares de cor azul-celeste a azul-violácea muito intensa. É encontrada exclusivamente no maciço de Mont Saint-Hilaire, no Québec, Canadá, tornando-a uma das gemas mais geograficamente restritas do mundo. Os cristais de qualidade gemológica são muito raros e exclusivamente destinados a colecções mineralógicas especializadas. O nome homenageia a Universidade de Carleton, em Ottawa, Canadá. A sua cor azul intensa e a sua extrema raridade tornam-na um objecto de grande interesse para colecionadores avançados de minerais raros.
