About Wavellite
Wavellite is a hydrated aluminum phosphate hydroxide mineral famous for its remarkable wheel-like radial crystal aggregates, where perfect hemispheres of acicular crystals radiate from a central point, resembling green or yellow-green sunbursts. Found in weathered aluminum-rich rocks and hydrothermal veins, with celebrated specimens from Mauldin Mountain in Arkansas, USA, and Llallagua, Bolivia. Polished sections revealing the wheel-like pattern make spectacular display specimens and unusual cabochon stones.
