About Unakite
Unakite is a metamorphic rock composed of pink orthoclase feldspar, green epidote, and colorless quartz, whose mottled pink-and-green appearance is immediately distinctive and named after the Unaka Mountains in Tennessee, USA. It is found in the Appalachian Mountains of the eastern United States, as well as in Zimbabwe, South Africa, and China, and is fashioned into cabochons, beads, spheres, and decorative objects. Its earthy combination of pink and green tones makes it a perennially popular lapidary material.
