About Shattuckite
Shattuckite is a striking copper silicate mineral displaying vivid sky-blue to deep turquoise colors with a silky luster, often found intermixed with other secondary copper minerals including malachite, chrysocolla, and plancheite in the oxidation zones of copper ore deposits. It was first described from the Shattuck Mine in Bisbee, Arizona, USA, and is also found in Namibia and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Its intense blue color and swirling patterns in polished cabochons are highly prized.
