About Purpurite
Purpurite is a striking manganese phosphate mineral displaying rich shades of purple, violet, and pinkish-red with a silky to submetallic luster on cleavage surfaces. It forms as an oxidation product of lithiophilite and triphylite in granitic pegmatites and is found in Namibia, Western Australia, Portugal, and the United States.
