About Johachidolite

Johachidolite is an exceptionally rare calcium aluminum borate mineral, forming colorless to pale yellow orthorhombic crystals with a vitreous luster and attractive dispersion. First described in 1943 from a skarn deposit in North Korea and named after the locality Johachido, it remained virtually unknown as a gemstone until cut specimens from Myanmar emerged in the gem trade in the 2000s. Faceted johachidolite is one of the world's rarest collector gems, valued for its exceptional clarity and scarcity.
