About Chrome-Chalcedony
Chrome chalcedony is a rare, intense apple-green to dark green variety of chalcedony colored by chromium rather than the nickel that gives common green chalcedony its color. It is found primarily in Zimbabwe (marketed as 'mtorolite'), where it occurs in chrome-bearing serpentinite, as well as in Australia and Kazakhstan. Its vivid, saturated green color distinguishes it from other green chalcedonies and makes it a desirable cabochon material.
