About Afghanite
Afghanite is a rare, bright blue to colorless tectosilicate mineral found almost exclusively in the Koksha Valley of Afghanistan, where it occurs alongside lazurite in marble. Its intense sky-blue color rivals lapis lazuli and makes gem-quality crystals among the most sought-after collector specimens from the region. Faceted examples are exceedingly rare, found only in specialized gemological collections.
