About Realgar
El rejalgar es un vívido sulfuro de arsénico de color naranja-rojo con lustre resinoso a adamantino que produce brillantes cristales cerosos, frecuentemente asociados al oropimente. Desde la Antigüedad se ha utilizado como pigmento rojo, componente de fuegos artificiales e insecticida, con yacimientos notables en Rumanía, China y Nevada (EE. UU.). El rejalgar es fotosensible y se deteriora con la exposición prolongada a la luz, transformándose en pararrejalgar amarillo, lo que supone un reto para su exhibición y conservación.
