About Microlite
Microlite is a calcium sodium tantalum oxide pyrochlore-group mineral, typically forming pale yellow, brown, or greenish octahedral crystals with an adamantine to greasy luster in rare-metal granitic pegmatites. It was first described in 1835 from Chesterfield, Massachusetts, USA, and occurs additionally in Minas Gerais, Brazil, and Mozambique. Rare transparent yellow to honey-colored material has been faceted into collector gems notable for their exceptionally high refractive index and dispersion.
